Meet Matt Lane

Matt Lane is a leadership speaker and former British Army officer who helps organisations develop leaders capable of performing under pressure.

After serving for 30 years in the British Army and rising from private soldier to commissioned officer, Matt gained a rare perspective on leadership from every level of an organisation. His experience spans peacekeeping operations, peace enforcement missions and high-intensity conflict, including the longest desert patrol since WWII, providing real-world insight into how people, teams and cultures perform when conditions are at their most demanding.

Today, Matt translates those lessons into practical leadership tools for modern organisations. Through compelling stories drawn from operational service and extreme environments, he challenges audiences to rethink culture, decision-making and resilience in uncertain conditions.

His keynote, Leadership Lessons From the Edge of Endurance, introduces audiences to the principles and frameworks that have shaped his leadership journey, including the 4Cs Endurance Loop™, a practical model for building resilient teams, developing capability and maintaining cohesion under pressure.

Rather than focusing on military history, Matt focuses on the leadership challenges organisations face every day: creating high-performance cultures, making decisions with incomplete information, developing trust within teams and leading effectively when the pressure is on.

Alongside his speaking work, Matt continues to pursue endurance challenges that reinforce the principles of discipline, resilience and personal accountability that underpin his message.

Whether speaking to senior leaders, management teams or emerging talent, Matt delivers practical insights that audiences can immediately apply within their own organisations.
